CAT'S CRADLE
We were honored to help organize and promote Big Star Third, a fully-orchestrated performance of Big Star’s classic Third Record Sister Lovers here in Carrboro in December 2010. Chris Stamey (the dB’s) put together an amazing band featuring Jody Stephens (Big Star), Mike Mills (R.E.M.), Mitch Easter (Let’s Active), and a crack orchestra featuring members of Lost in the Trees, Birds and Arrows and the NC Symphony. Guest vocalists from The Old Ceremony, The Love Language, Megafaun, The Rosebuds and more rotated in and out throughout the evening. We designed all things designable (poster, website), promote the show anyway we could, and get a ton of press in the Indy, N&O, Herald-Sun and more. Everyone involved donated their time and we raised a bunch o’ money for two very deserving charities– KidZNotes and the New Orleans Musicians Clinic. We also designed a poster for a completely unrelated tribute to Alex Chilton earlier that year.
